Product Manager Day 97: An Ode to Bugs

If a user says something’s going wrong and no one can replicate it, is it really a bug?

(Inspired by this thought experiment.)

The tendency is to be the bugs-Sherlock, to try and sleuth down the loose ends. But if the business case is not strong, is it worth prioritizing dev (or your) time following a possible dead end?

OK so that wasn’t quite an ode. Maybe this:

Ah, that speckle of imperfection
Did usage bring to light
A random force of nature
Or an engineer who got too smug
Everyone prayed and wished
But twist did not the truth
Alas, tis another bug

I jumped from Product Marketing to Product Management at Zalora recently. These posts represent a journal of my learnings and reflections. Feel free to connect on Twitter @wasabigeek.
